Today, we stand at the dawn of a new era for Nepali tea industry. With the inauguration of this state-of-the-art Tea Testing, Promotion, and Research Center after several years of development, we are not only inching closer towards fulfilling our long-term dream of the global recognition of Nepal as a major player in the Orthodox black tea market in terms of quality but, also setting a new benchmark for quality and innovation.
The inaugurated center is a testament to our collective commitment towards our commitment towards elevating Nepal’s tea, which has been begging for it’s quality elevation and promotion on the global stage. With research led by the Nepal Academy of Science and Technology (NAST) and collaborative efforts from local and provincial governments, as well as the Tea and Coffee Development Board, I am fully confident that this institution will live upto it’s expectations on driving significant growth, development and promotions of Nepali Tea.
It has truly been an honor for me as an individual to witness the inauguration of this center, a project that has been a source of immense pride for the local government Suryodaya Municipality and the provincial government Koshi Province.
I would like to extend my sincere gratitude to our esteemed guests which includes the likes of Honorable Minister of Agriculture, Mr. Khagensingh Hanggham, the Honorable Member of Parliament, Hon. Mahesh Basnet, the Honorable Members of the Koshi Provincial Assembly, the Chief Secretary of Koshi Province, the Koshi Provincial Planning Commission, and all the other dignitaries who have graced this occasion with their presence.


As we celebrate this historic and remarkable milestone, let us also recognize the invaluable contributions of individuals such as Mr. Deepak Prakash Banskota, Mr. Uday Chapagain, Mr. Ram Kumar Rathi, Mr. Taranath Sharma Adhikari, Mr. Man Kumar Lepcha, Mr. Punam Rai, and Mr. Samir Shrestha, who have been instrumental in shaping Nepal’s tea industry. Their dedication and passion have been an inspiration to us all.

Finally, I would like to thank all the staff who contributed to making this state-of-the-art tea testing, research, and promotional center a reality. This includes the engineers from Suryodaya Municipality, supervisors from various government agencies involved in infrastructure planning, and staff from the Koshi Province Government. Their unwavering commitment to this project has been truly astounding. I would also like to express my sincere gratitude to everyone who attended and contributed to the success of the inauguration ceremony.
I am confident that this center will not only benefit our local tea producers and growers but will also significantly contribute to Nepal’s economy and elevate the international reputation of Nepali tea. Together, let us work towards making Nepal a global leader in the production of high-quality tea.
