Following are the decisions made by the Disaster management committee of Suryodaya Municipality regarding the heavy rainfall and the casualties caused by it that occurred on Ashoj 18 and 19 (October 4th and 5th 2025) held under the chairmanship of myself.

Suryodaya Municipality has achieved a historic milestone by scoring 90.50 in the Local Institutional Capacity Self-Assessment (LISA) for fiscal year 2080/81, securing the top position in Koshi Province and ranking sixth nationwide among 753 municipalities. This recognition reflects the municipality’s strong commitment to good governance, transparency, sustainable development, and community-centered progress. From live broadcasting executive meetings to child-friendly and environmentally friendly initiatives, Suryodaya’s success stands as a model of inclusive and accountable governance in Nepal.
Suryodaya Municipality is revolutionizing education through its innovative “Let’s Play with Math, Let’s Have Fun with Math” campaign, aimed at achieving excellence in the Secondary Education Examination (SEE). By fostering parental commitment to ensure 70% student attendance, implementing monthly municipality-level tests, and providing targeted classes to address learning gaps, the municipality is empowering students to excel, particularly in Mathematics and English. With strategic initiatives like distributing Mathematics practice booklets and publishing test results transparently, Suryodaya is paving the way for provincial-level success in the upcoming SEE examinations, inspiring confidence and enthusiasm among students.

Suryodaya Municipality marks a significant dual milestone with the launch of a large-scale afforestation campaign aimed at planting 50,000 trees across all wards and the proud achievement of top honors in Ilam District’s HP-MSS health post evaluation. Led by the Mayor and supported by elected representatives, students, and local organizations, the afforestation program reflects the municipality’s commitment to environmental sustainability.
