Suryodaya Municipality would like to extend the deepest gratitude to the news outlet Gorkhapatra Daily for shining the light on the significant upcoming event: Visits from ambassadors of over 27 countries to our municipality on the auspicious occasion of Nepali New Year 2082.
The initiative made possible through the collaborative and coordinated efforts of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Nepal Tourism Board and our Municipality, marks a significant moment for the municipality.
The arrival of such a distinguished delegation, led by the Hon’ble Foreign Minister Dr. Arzu Rana Deuba, secretaries and officials from the Ministry and Tourism Board, totaling around 45 high-level participants, is not just an honor, but a significant opportunity and a massive testament to our municipality.
Strengthening Tourism and Municipal Growth
This visit holds immense benefits for our municipality. We envision this as another crucial step towards the promotion of the municipality on the international stages and the presence of the esteemed ambassadors in Shree Antu and Kanyam which already serves as a popular destination for both domestic and international tourists, will undoubtedly generate further publicity and recognition, paving the way for increased tourist footfall in the future ultimately benefitting our residents of the municipality and uplifting living standards.
Primary aim remains to showcase our potential to the world
Our primary wish and goal through this invitation and hosting such a significant program would be to position Suryodaya Municipality as a must-visit destination on the global tourism map. We aspire for the world to recognize the unique beauty, cultural richness, and warm hospitality that our municipality has to offer to the global stage.
This program is perfectly aligned with the Ministry’s annual tradition of introducing ambassadors to new and promising tourist destinations during the Nepali New Year.
Detailed Program Schedule for the Diplomatic Delegation
To ensure this visit of the significant dignitaries remains a memorable and insightful one, the municipality has been diligently preparing under the coordination of our Deputy Mayor, Mr. Durga Kumar Baral, who leads the main organizing committee, supported by five dedicated sub-committees.
As per the main organizing committee, the schedule for the welcome of the guests are as follows:
- On Chaitra 31st, the delegation will arrive in Kanyam. Here, they will be warmly welcomed by the municipality and treated to a tea tasting session at our tea testing, research and promotional center, showcasing the exquisite flavors that our local tea has to offer. They will also be treated to savor local dairy delicacies, including cheese.
- To provide a glimpse into our rich yet unified cultural biodiversity, we have planned to adorn the ambassadors in traditional attire representing various ethnic communities. They will also experience the scenic beauty of Kanyam through horseback riding and a guided tour of our lush tea gardens.
- On the night of Chaitra 31st, a special nighttime welcome ceremony will be held in Shree Antu.
- As the great nation of Nepal enters the New year 2082 on Baisakh 1st, the ambassadors will be offered the breathtaking experience of viewing the magnificent sunrise from Shree Antu. Further engagements include exploring more tea gardens and enjoying a serene boat ride in the picturesque Antu Pokhari.
- The entire delegation is scheduled to stay overnight in Antu on Baisakh 1st and will depart on Baisakh 2nd.

We are organizing vibrant cultural performances showcasing the diverse ethnic groups of our region, arranging for our guests to relish authentic local cuisine, planning various entertaining programs, and ensuring the further cleanliness and beautification of our local tourist sites.
