A Vision for a Healthier Municipality
This initiative aligns with the long term mission that our municipality has for its residents, i.e providing of accessible, proactive, and technology-driven healthcare services to our citizens.
This campaign was primarily targeted for/with:
- Senior citizens above 60 years of age,
- Individuals with a family history of tuberculosis,
- Patients with chronic illnesses, and
- Those exhibiting Tuberculosis-like symptoms.
The primary objective we had envisioned from the campaign was to ensure the early detection of potential tuberculosis cases and upon discovery of symptoms of potential tuberculosis, immediate referral was taken all using the advanced AI-integrated digital radiography to achieve precision and efficiency for potential detection of symptoms.
Day One: Strong Public Participation and Immediate Action
The initial day of the campaign witnessed a strong mass participation with a massive 326 residents screened through the AI Integrated digital radiography which to me personally remained heartening due to the fact regarding the trust received as massive participation from all corners of the municipality.
Following were the key outcomes from Day One:
- 5 individuals were confirmed positive for tuberculosis and were immediately referred for further treatment.
- 52 individuals showed suspicious symptoms and were referred for further examination.
- Personally, for me I too underwent the screening test as a gesture of civic responsibility and further committing towards the reliability and integrity of the campaign.
On the other hand, this day remained as a friendly reminder for me and the entire municipality family that our citizens are willing to engage in preventive health measures when the opportunity is effectively brought to their doorstep.
Day Two: Expanded Reach and Comprehensive Coverage
On the conclusive second day, our focus shifted to the remaining target population from Wards 7, 8, 9, 10, and 11 and the numbers? Well, they were even more encouraging than the previous day with 496 individuals participating in the screening.
Following were the key outcomes from the second day of the campaign:
- 3 additional TB cases were confirmed and referred for treatment.
- 44 individuals showed suspicious signs and were guided for further diagnosis.
Overall Impact: Milestone on Municipal Healthcare
The following were the numbers that show indicates the overwhelming success the campaign had on the course of the two days:
- A total of 822 individuals were screened.
- 8 individuals were diagnosed with clinical pulmonary tuberculosis and have since begun treatment.
- 96 individuals were identified as potential cases and will receive follow-up care.
The campaign has not only identified active cases early, but it has also introduced a new standard in diagnostic precision through AI technology which highlights the willingness of the municipality to embrace modern tools and technology at our disposal to address persistent health challenges.
Appreciation and Acknowledgment
The success of this campaign could not be solely credited to a one single entity as collective efforts of several units have come together to make this campaign a success that it has been.
I would like to sincerely thank the Health Department of Suryodaya Municipality for their leadership and coordination, all the healthcare workers, volunteers, municipal staff for the tireless efforts to keep the campaign running the Deputy Mayor, Chief Administrative Officer, and other municipal representatives for their supervision and involvement throughout the campaign.
Last but not the least I would like to thank all of the local citizens for their active participation in the campaign to make it a success that it stood out to be without your participation this campaign would mean nothing.
The joint commitment from all of the units, both direct and behind the scenes, has had us inching towards the mission and vision of the municipality turn into a reality.
Looking Ahead: A Model for Future Initiatives
This campaign marks more than a public health achievement — it reflects our municipality’s capability and readiness to adopt cutting-edge solutions for community well-being. As we move forward, let this serve as a model for future health interventions.
Together, we will continue to make Suryodaya a model municipality for progress, innovation, and care.
