It was a moment of distinct honor serving as the official delegate on behalf of the municipalities of Nepal at The International Mayors Forum 2025, held in Japan from October 14 to 16.
The event brought together mayors and municipal leaders from a wide range of nations from least developed to developing and developed countries where the central theme of discussions revolved around the effective advancement of municipalities through Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and how municipalities from least developed nations can transition into a developing/developed municipality through innovation, collaboration and sustainable practices.
During the sessions that unfolded in the event, documents and frameworks regarding the theme of the event prepared by Suryodaya Municipality were comprehensively and thoroughly analyzed and discussed among international peers. I had the opportunity to engage in in-depth dialogues with mayors from various countries, sharing local experiences, best practices, and challenges faced in implementing sustainable policies at the municipal level.
This participation, not only introduced Suryodaya Municipality to the international community but further paved the road for future collaboration and technical assistance from global partners. Several international projects expressed keen interest in working with us in the coming future.
To ensure transparency and to share our progress with all concerned stakeholders, I am pleased to present the digital tools and systems which are being developed and implemented by Suryodaya Municipality. These platforms reflect our municipality’s commitment to digital governance, service delivery, and data-driven decision-making.

Words of genuine coordination and support from the international peers regarding our efforts, the supporting frameworks and policies and our progress has further encouraged me and the municipal team to keep working on what we always believed to be worth working for and I am deeply encouraged by the recognition Suryodaya Municipality received for its digital innovations and sustainable development efforts.
